Chateau des Ormes - or Domaine des Ormes as it is sometimes known, is an impressive holiday park set in the surroundings of a 400 year old Chateau in Northern Brittany.

Thirty years ago Monsieur de la Chesnais embarked upon developing his ancestral family home of over 150 years into one of Europe's most impressive holiday parks we know as Chateau des Ormes. It would seem that despite being probably the most impressive park in the north of France, Chateau des Ormes has something new added to surprise us. The fantastic new aquatic pool complex is a wonderful addition to the long list of facilities on offer at camping Chateau des Ormes.

Where else in Brittany could you enjoy indoor water slides, wave machine, palm trees and a tropical climate even in early or late season?

Chateau des Ormes – Golf

A top quality 18 hole championship standard golf course forms part of the facilities at Chateau des Ormes and provides quite a challenge even for the most experienced player.

After you finish your round why not retire to the golf hotel bar for a well earned beverage.

Chateau des Ormes – Horse riding

Set in the grounds of a 400 year old chateau the surrounding area at Chateau des Ormes is extensive. Exploring the estate on horseback is a great way to explore your surroundings. Chateau des Ormes has horse riding facilities for all levels of ability from beginners to experienced riders. Competitions are organised throughout the season for the experienced riders and there is a pony club for the younger rider.

A fantastic opportunity to see Chateau des Ormes from another perspective. High in the trees you will cross rope bridges negotiate obstacle and Ariel slide over lakes.

Chateau des Ormes with its forest of trees is an ideal location for a game of paintball. With a range of individual and team games organised you will have hours of fun.

Take a relaxing boat ride on the lake and take in the views of the chateau and surrounding area.

Chateau des Ormes – Places of interest

A five minute walk through the woods will take you to the village of St. Leonard’s, where you'll find a small Sunday market, a peaceful church and some 'local' French bars and restaurants. The austere looking St. Samson's a 13th century cathedral dominating the skyline of the colorful market town of Dol de Bretagne is only 5 minutes away by car.

The magnificent castle at Combourg is reputedly haunted and the woods surrounding Combourg are said to have been the inspiration for much of the work of the famous French romantic novelist Chateaubriand.

Travelling just a little further from Chateau des Ormes are the delights of St. Malo a fortress island town, Dinan with its cobbled streets and old port and Mont St. Michel a mighty monastery rising from the sea can all be sampled.
